Stairs - Edwardian
The Edwardian range of components has been developed to produce a luxurious staircase in a period style. As with all of our components, it´s possible to mix and match to meet a personal choice, but in this area we have gathered together sections and moulding details we feel complement each other.
Strings
A closed string construction staircase with decorative moulding fixed to the outer face of the string, forming a panel detail. The panel detail is not only ornate but has the effect of making the string appear thicker.
Newels
Newels are finished 135mm x 135mm and feature an inset panel detail with decorative moulded surround. The panelling would normally be on the exposed face with the faces of adjoining balustrades left plain. Newel caps are formed to project around the newel with nosed and moulded sections.
Handrails
Although a heavy section (finishing 80 x 60mm) the handrail profile offers the functional and attractive appearance of this period. This handrail could be used with any of our newel sections but we recommend a large section newel is matched to a suitably large handrail.
Mouldings
Newel caps, string capping, floor capping and cover moulds are profiled to complement the panel mouldings, adding to the overall effect. The panelled detail on the strings can also be carried through to the apron linings.
Balusters
The baluster is the one component which would most likely be subject to personal choice, but we feel that the ‘Imperial’ Baluster shown, complements the other components very effectively.
